Through The Hand Foundation’s Organizational Grant Program, we provide grants to professionally managed and sustainable nonprofit organizations with financial need to amplify a purpose or mission. Grants are considered for charitable and impactful programming as well as capital endeavors that assist in supporting a nonprofit organization’s core mission.

Emerging Program and Capital Grants support high-impact, sustainable, and responsive nonprofit organizations in delivering their core missions through thoughtful and time-bound projects. These grants help address an immediate need that is critical to the organization’s work. Grant amounts are up to $100,000, most often paid over one year.

Transformational Capital Grants provide major funding for nonprofit organizations to permanently and profoundly improve their mission delivery by supporting the development of physical spaces and/or assets that create a meaningful difference in enhancing the ability to provide high-quality, impactful programs and services to those served. Grant amounts are over $100,000, often payable over multiple years.

Organizations that have not been previously funded by the Foundation are encouraged to apply for Emerging Program and Capital Grants to familiarize the Foundation with its work before submitting an application and proposal for a Transformational Capital Grant.

Grant requests are highly competitive. The most compelling proposals will demonstrate a complete analysis that validates the program or project's impact, need, and viability.

Through The Hand Foundation's Student Grant Program, we provide scholarship grants to full-time aspiring students attending or preparing to attend an accredited college, university, or trade school. In evaluating candidates, the Foundation considers financial need and merit as part of a holistic review of each applicant.

Grant assistance is considered for up to 4 years (max. 8 semesters). Funding goes towards core costs of tuition, books, and fees +. The awarded grant amount varies depending on financial need, merit, school attending, among other factors. The Foundation funds fall and spring semesters only.

Prospective students shall complete a Letter of Interest prior to submitting an application (which can be started here on the site via submit). The letter should include two elements - first, a personal bio with high school history (achievements, activities, skills, interests, etc.) and second, college objectives and goals (institution planning to attend, area of focus, projected start and end date, career goals). The student candidate will provide their contact information - mailing address, phone number, email.

The Foundation will review the letter based on merit and budget, then, will send an application to the student candidate to complete.
